Abstract Submission Guidelines

The new IGES website has been re-designed, and the abstract submission program has also been changed. Please follow these instructions to submit your abstract successfully.

Go to the IGES website: www.geneticepi.org and click on the tab at the top menu bar named “Abstracts”.

If you have an account on the IGES website, you must log in. If you have never logged into the website, register and complete all information requested. Be sure to make a record of your username and password. You will need this information to re-access your submitted abstract. It is important to enter ALL information when setting up your account in the event there are any questions about your submission. If you already have an account on the website, please review your profile to be sure all information is complete.

Once you have set up an account, you may access the “SUBMIT ABSTRACT” tab on the right side of the screen, under your login info (see figure 1)

Next, add the authors and affiliations for the abstract (see figure 5). Enter the first author’s first name, middle initial, last name and affiliation in the correct positions, and so on. When you view your published abstract, authors will not appear, but will be downloaded by administration and placed in the proper position when the abstract is prepared for publication.

On the right, select at least 1 and up to 5 subject categories for your abstract (see figure 6).

Once you have completed your submission, you may click on the “Submit for Review” (see figure 6).

After you have published your abstract, you will get a new screen in the event you want to submit more than one abstract. If you are finished, you may exit the website. You will be able to edit your abstract by logging into the IGES website, click on the “submit abstract” tab, next click on the menu item on the left called “my abstracts”. You will see all abstracts you have submitted. To edit, click on the edit button below the title. If you want to withdraw your abstract, choose “delete.

Special Note: You will NOT receive a submission number for your abstract. Abstracts are numbered internally in the program for identification. Once the abstracts have been reviewed by the Program Committee and accepted, you will be notified of your abstract number as well as whether you will be a platform or poster presenter.
