Several committees perform various functions:

Scientific Program Committee sets scientific program for annual meeting
Local Organizing Committee handles local logistics for annual meeting
Publications Committee interacts with Genetic Epidemiology and chooses awardees for best publication
ELSI Committee deals with Ethical, Legal Social Issues in genetic epidemiological research
Membership Committee handles membership recruitment/retention
Educational Committee outreaches to the scientific community on genetic epidemiology methods
Young Investigators Committee encourages new investigators to be involved and network with each other and more seasoned members
